Friday Reflections

1.) I did a thing! I posted a picture of myself on Instagram. While it may seem like nothing to you, it was a HUGE deal to me and I put it off for so long. When I first started to write, blog, I told myself "no one needs to see me. It should be about my writing." I still believe that. But it started to also feel like I was hiding. I do not want to hide, ever. So I took the plunge. Here we are.

2.) I was recently looking through old posts on this blog and wow...there were some bangers man. See on the joy of really living. Also see how to make decisions when your faith wavers. And a ramble on being young and carefree. Of course, For Rachel. I even wrote about love and romance (!)

3.) I can't believe I ever thought of shutting this down.

4.) If you're in your 30s, watch this.

5.) "Why you will marry the wrong person." Ten years after this (one might say revolutionary) article,  it feels like a good time to bring it back.

6.) Love is a skill, not a feeling. Alain de Botton is hands down one of my favorite contemporary philosophers. Not that we have that many.

7.) Friend, stop obsessing over your life.

8.) Individually, I may not care much about each of these white guys on Late Night TV (ok fine maybe John Oliver). But together, a ya ya. Really a comedic force. Will never forget that podcast they did during the writers strike. Amazing. Recently, they came together on one of Colbert's last shows. And quite the episode: full of laughter, camaraderie, and lots of heart.

That's it folks. See you next time.

Love,

I

  1. Haha on number 2. The first article..did you go back to read and feel you’re still on track? We need to remind ourselves daily. *might edit this comment to add more as I read on* 😂

    2. Goshh back to finish all the posts on #2 and 2019 feels like our last normal life. I don’t even know what that means anymore. From Chimamanda (literally just read her husband’s op ed today, my heart breaks for them), to Berry Dakara to Lade Tawak. Blog days were dwindling then and we didn’t even know it. And the long piece on romance! A great reminder to not settle fr. Still so relevant and tbh it’s okay to let go if it’s not even the love that you want (but that’s a whole different post 🤣).
      Also, Yaay to you! 😂😂🎉🎉🎉

  2. Wow I just went to search for his op ed, and my goodness, what a tragedy. That story just always breaks my heart sigh. And no, 2019 was it mannn. We have all been going through something since 2020 that is just hard to explain.
